Here's an update from the March 12th business meeting: The club has been presented with an excellent opportunity to improve the range road. Woolf Excavating is going to donate the use of earthmoving equipment and the club will pay the cost of operator hours for this equipment.
This affords us the opportunity to get much needed drainage work done on the road along with some minor range improvements. We hope to start this as soon as the frost laws are removed from the county roads so the equipment can move again.
The project will require the closing of the entire club for two or three days during the week. We will be able to give little or no advanced notice on when this will happen. Keep checking in here and I will try to get it posted as soon as possible.
Also, we added 105 new members on March 3rd and membership now stands at 1,088. A second new membership orientation is still scheduled for April 7th. The 2007 membership cap is 1,200.
The mounted trap thrower has a broken spring and Ron Kent and myself plan on getting this fixed by 3/15. Thanks to VP Steve Perkowski for putting up new backers on the pistol range. We plan on replacing all of the backers on all ranges at the April 28th work day.

Dan, Was the road work completed today, so that the ranges will be available tomorrow (Thursday, April 19)? Thanks. Don

Don, They got a little more work to do. All the gravel has been delivered and spread. Now the grader operator will be there tomorrow (Thursday 4/19) to do the final grading. The road will have to remain closed until that is completed, probably by mid-afternoon.
Andy Woolf has been working on the lower range in the evenings. Of course that won't effect the operation of the other ranges.
Hope this information helps, seems like some type of problem always comes up (like broken equipment, late trucks, etc.) So I can't give anyone a certain timetable. If you drive out to shoot Thursday, you'll do so at your own risk. If they are working, walk back and wave hi to them, look over the work and maybe give them a thanks! Woolf is donating a lot toward this project.
