There will be a NRA Approved 50 shot National Match Course at Southern Michigan Gun Club on Oct. 21st. Registration is from 8-8:50am and match starts at 9am. This is a 100yd reduced course. I shot last months for the first time and found it to be well run, a real challange and a fun group. It cost $15. Hope to see you there!

Just a question. Why are all the highpower events held on Sunday? I attend church and Sunday is generally set aside for family time. I would love to shoot the match, but can't if it is on a Sunday. I'm sure that I'm not the only one...

The one at SMGC is on a Saturday October 21st. Hope you can make it.
But I can answer your question in regards to highpower at the KRGC. When we first started way back in in 1982 we had a few members ask the same question that you ask. So I scheduled a couple events for Saturday's to try accommodate them. Attendance was down for the Saturday event and not one of the people that requested it showed up.

That's too bad...
The 21st is my drill weekend, I am full time National Guard at FT Custer, but still have to drill with the kiddies.
I will try to swing a Sunday soon. I shoot M14 and M1 but imagine I'll have to get back into the AR platform to be truly competitive. Oh well, already have a lower...

I havent done anything like this before. I know in the past for some events the club and its members have been kind enought to have firearms there for people to try. I relize this event not being one is there another one during the year where new shooters can try it out without having to buy the riffles 1st?

The club owns six match grade AR-15 rifles that members can use in matches. We also have some CMP .223 ammo that members or new shooters can buy at cost to compete in the matches. Even have a couple of spotting scopes that you can use.
