Class Report: Defensive Carbine Level 1 at Watervliet Rod and Gun Club By: Kevin Schneider
The Watervliet Rod and Gun Club hosted Steve Fisher, lead instructor of Michigan Defensive Firearms Institute for a Defensive Carbine 1 Class on Saturday, June 28. There were seven students that attended from as far away as Peoria, Illinois; Grand Rapids, and Detroit. The weather was very nice for the class. Steve is an excellent shooter and trainer. He has a vast amount of knowledge and experience to share. We started the day slow, learning and reinforcing the basics. By the end of class we were heating the guns up rather well, putting lead downrange with speed and precision. It was some serious training to be sure, but it was also enjoyable for the students. The students and trainers had good things to say about our club, and appreciated the opportunity to train here. We have a Low Light Carbine Class scheduled for Saturday, July 26 for those who are interested.
