Hello,
Just looking for some advice if anyones interested. I've been hunting with an old Browning auto-5 for some time now and I'm thinking I'd like to begin shooting sporting clays at the club. The old auto is as heavy as any weapon I've ever held, won't swing well for the clays. The last time I was out with my ex-brother in law we shot a pair of his over/unders. I liked the gun but the trigger was fussy. Later I asked if he hunted the guns and he didn't. I don't want to purchase a new 12 I can't enjoy in the field as well. Any thoughts about using an over/under in the field? How about an auto loader? Is ther any product or manufacture thats promoting something that crosses over well to both well? Thanks for the advice.

I don't have a direct recommendation for you, except that you CAN use an o/u in the field, but that's stating the obvious.
What I do recommend is to go to D&R out on West Main when Tom (the gunsmith) is working. He's a competitive clays shooter, very knowledgeable about the subject, and I'd trust him to steer you right.

Thanks Don,
I guess stating Gary didn't shoot the O/U in the field was a little inaccurate. He prefers his Bernelli while hunting, he liked the short barrel O/U for speed and the longer barrel hunting. I'll swing through D&R and look around. It's been years sense I've been their business.
Thank again, Greg
