Yesterday I received a letter from one of the folks serving in Iraq that we've been sending care packages to, and thought that I should share it with everyone. It is from Corporal Benjamin Rietkerk.
To everyone at the Kalamazoo Rod and Gun Club, Thank you for the care packages. We have used almost everything in them. It is good to get the packages from people back home, and to know that people are happy to help and send care packages to let us know people back home are thinking about us. The war is going pretty good for us over here. My platoon is manning a vehicle check point, so we deal with the locals a lot. We like to give the children candy and toys. The adults come through with the kids and look at us like they don't like us and the kids run up to us and ask for candy. When the parents see us smiling and giving the kids candy and playing with them they loosen up and seem happier. Sorry for the bad hand writing my hands are pretty beat up and makes it hard to write sometimes.
Thank you all for your support Corporal Benjamin Rietkerk
