I know not many people browse here, but some of the board members do.
I know I should get to the meetings because then Id probably know the answer to my question.
Has the idea of putting in sky lights in the roofs of the ranges. Like a row of plexiglass so that the last hour of daylight, or on gloomy days you can see better under there. Or even some real lights would be nice. Flourescent lights are cheap to run, and easy to install.

Bullseye, That is a good idea about the skylights, especially on the rifle range. The best way to go about getting this accomplished would be to generate interest among several other members. Then come to a board meeting with a plan and approximate cost estimate. Remember you'll also need to close the range to accomplish this which will require notice in the newsletter. Someone will be responsible for rounding up the labor pool and tools needed.
Right now we are kinda concentrating on getting our 47 year old clubhouse in shape. We just had new windows put in by volunteers, and the front steps were replaced. We hope to get the inside painted next week and the outside next summer. Next year we hope to replace the two aging furnaces and heating ducts.
You have a good idea and I hope I provided a little insight in how things get done around the club. It's all volunteers and that's what keeps the dues so low.

Okay....Could I come to a board meeting and bring up the idea and see if I can generate interest from other members there? I dont know many other members, have a few buddies that arent members that may be interested in some labor.
Also, do we have any other HVAC mechanics on the board? I can get pretty good prices on furnaces from my supplier if nobody else can.
