I assume that all the new member notifications have gone out. If any of the people accepted decide to decline membership, do you just draw some more names?

With a more manageable 75 at two sessions, instead of past years 130 or more at one session, I think parking will be much easier.

I assume that all the new member notifications have gone out. If any of the people accepted decide to decline membership, do you just draw some more names? I believe that all new member notifications have been made by now, either by phone or email. If someone told us they couldn't make it on that day, the next name on the list was chosen. Now, unless someone cancels before Saturday, opening up a spot, no further notifications are likely, and no further orientation will be scheduled this year.

The above post is correct. I've had no cancellations as of yet for Saturday's orientation. If there are no-shows, we'll have to see how many there are and decide if it's worth our time to contact the next people on the list and hold another session in March. At this point, there are no plans to do so.

7 people didn't show, are you going to Contact the next persons in the list Probably not, as that would require a whole new orientation session and they are a lot of work. Those no-show folks are just out of luck because it's my understanding they will be moved to the bottom of the list next year if they re-apply. Maybe John our membership chairman can clarify this? Also, I think John deserves a big Thank You for coming up with this new plan on handling new memberships. I think it worked very well!

I guess I don't know how to answer the question as of yet, regarding the 8 open slots we have. Dan is right in saying we won't have another group orientation session...it's not worth it for that few people. However, I hate to have those spots open when I know there are people who want to join the club. I would be willing to work with that small a number of people one-on-one. I'm going to raise the issue at the board meeting next Monday, and if there's agreement then I'll contact the next 8 people on the list and work with them directly.
As for the no-shows, they will be allowed to apply next year, but they will not get to be in the drawing twice since they didn't show up this year. The only people who will get to be in the drawing twice are people who didn't get selected this year and apply again next year.

I spoke with Tom today, and I will proceed with filling the open slots.
