Hunters Safety Offered this Fall?

Is the club offering hunter safety classes this Fall? I can't remember the answer.

No hunter safety classes at the KRGC in 2010. The DNR has placed too many rules and regulations on the backs of the volunteer instructors and organizations conducting classes that we no longer get volunteers who want to run the classes.

I dont know what a volunteer would have to go thru but I sat with daughter last fall for her hunters safty. 2 days and I think they were 8 hours Long. I could not believe soem of the stuff they went thru. Boating rules and reloading and other stuff that just did not directly deal with hunters safty. They barly touched on how to carry a firearm thru the woods. Such as how to walk in a group. where the best way to point a gun as you walk togeather. safe times to shoot. stuff that you deal wth directly. Allmost like they are trying to fill a class with as much info as you can get into the time and not really go into dept on the mportant stuff. Like how does one get into a treestand in a safe manner.........never mentioned that one.


Many many years ago i had hunters safty thru the club and I can remember the class. people showing me how to carry a firearm. The class she went thru I cant hardly remember as all the info was limited and just so much as to be overwealming

I had no idea it had got so bad in this class,what? when my kids took it out there 20 yrs ago, it was nowhere near that kind of stuff, me never had to to old and my father and uncles taught me what i needed to know. Why so much not refering to hunters safety. Sounds like a slow way of killing off hunting entirely to me and if our organization drops it,well,how many others also around the state?Sounds alittle fishy to me to say the least in Lansing. Its what happens when you put the DNR together with the state EPA which just got busted up buy the way, by the new gov.
