;D Just wonderin! I love to shoot but love to fish almost as much. Do we ever do anything to justify the word 'rod' in our club's name?

The club was founded in 1934 as the Michigan Trout Club and was devoted to imrpove fish and game habitat through out the SW Michigan area. After WWII many members came back with an interest in firearms and proposed a name change to the Kalamazoo Rod & Gun Club to reflect their new broader interests. It would be very hard to change the name now and remove the "Rod" from the title. In fact, no one has ever suggested it as far as I know. You can read a complete history of the club in the Membership Handbook, copies are in the box on the gate bulletin board. We also plan to put it on our new website which should be up and running by the 1st of the year.
Sorry to say the club doesn't do much with fishing anymore. But all it takes is a person or persons with an interest to get events going. Look what Steve Perkowski and "the crew" have done with Action Pistol".
