The July-August 2012 Newsletter is now posted on the club website and the printed version should arrive sometime next week in your mailbox.
We need a new Newsletter Editor effective immediately! Please read the newsletter for the complete story, then please come back here and post your opinions about the future of our newsletter, if you have any.

First, a big thanks to Dan for once again stepping up to the plate to take care of something at the club. As someone who spent quite a bit of time doing the club newsletter myself, I can appreciate the amount of effort it takes to put out a quality publication (like anything else, a good outcome requires effort) Actually Dan took me under his wing and we worked together on the newsletter, more like co-editors, but it was rewarding, and I know that a lot of members enjoyed our effort. As to the question about printed or electronic, I'm going to vote for electronic posting of the newsletter, for several reasons. First it can be edited if a mistake is discovered, second it's hard for me to believe that there are more than a very small handful of members that are not on line and probably can even pull up the web site on their smart phones! If someone needs a printed copy, why not have them ask a fellow club member to click "print" on the electronic newsletter and make them a copy if they don't have the technology available to them. Third, is the huge cost savings to the club and that money can be directed towards other projects that are needed. Fourth, in this age of facebook and you tube, I can't believe that an electronic newsletter might not even generate more participation and feedback from club members. Let's hear from the rest of you! Mark (editor retired)

We have a volunteer for the newsletter. I am going to help him get started and will wait to let him introduce himself when he's ready.
Remember your 2013 membership renewal form will be mailed in early November via a first class mailing and will not be included in the newsletter. You will get only one mailing so don't lose it.
