Greetings!
My name is Erica Ahlich. I am a Park Ranger for the City of Portage. I am contacting the Kalamazoo Rod and Gun Club in regards to a possible donation for an event we will be holding on Saturday May 18th from 10:00 Am to 1:00 Pm at our local park, Ramona Park.
The City of Portage Parks Dept. will host the fourth annual Family Fishing Fair as part of our Angling Adventures program, which was developed to engage youth into boating and fishing opportunities. We are seeking partners to support this event by hosting an activity or providing a donation.
The objective of the Family Fishing Fair is: To provide family friendly activities which enhance awareness and educate the local community about fishing skills, local resources, environmental conservation and safety. The Family Fishing Fair will provide opportunity for businesses and organizations to promote their trade and services in an engaging and stimulating environment.
This event has averaged over 500 attendees in the past four years. We have had local and professional fisherman attend the event such as Kevin Vandam. The event is free to the public and 100 fishing poles, courtesy of United Water, are given out at the event to our youth. It would be great to be able to give tackle supplies with the poles at the event. We are seeking tackle supplies such as tackle boxes/bags, artificial lures, lead free split shot weights (200), bobber stops, slip bobbers, hooks, etc. Any combination of these items would be greatly appreciated.
We do follow through with our partners and ensure they are recognized through our media materials such as flyers, banners, radio, etc.
We have hope that the Kalamazoo Rod and Gun Club will become a partner of the City of Portage Parks Dept and help provide a fun and exciting event for our local families and especially our youth.
Thank You for any consideration!
I have attached the partner packet to this email.
